1st Blog of All Time!

Hi all: Sooooo, 1.. Let me welcome you to my new page. I am looking to making an impact with some new web presence. I'll be uploading videos, music, and the occasional brain dropping regarding my experience teaching, performing, practicing, and online instruction.

OK, so let me tell you a little about me...I have a long career in the music education business. I am graduate of the Crane School of Music where I earned two different degrees. I have my bachelor's degree in Music Education and my master's degree in music performance.

Back track to my HS experience. I have decided to pursue a career in music. I had the same big dreams that everyone goes through. I am in the audience of my favorite band and the drummer can't continue. Who do they call on? Me... hahahaha. Sweet naivety. I didn't realize just how many turns and twists, ups and downs, my career would take.

I audition at Crane after hearing one of my best friends tell me about how amazing the school is. He wasn't wrong but I had to go through some serious growth to understand this information. I am accepted and this drum set player is now sitting in a class holding a French horn wondering how I got there and why am I learning this? I came to play....this was a compromise I made with my family. They were worried I wouldn't be able to make ends meet and still move forward in my career. Education was a solution to both problems...how does one go forward in a field where only a select few make money and how does one pursue the avenues of performance and still put food on the table? I was assured that there would be plenty of time for both.....ummmm.....nope.
