Been a while....

Hi all:

Sorry for the absence of my online persona but I have been busy with work. Music education has been a challenge in the age of COVID-19. I currently have had more attrition than ever in my career and have not seen my complete class, in one room, this year. As things begin to heat up with virus spread it looks like we may be headed in the same direction as last Spring. Hopefully, if this has to be this way, there will be much less loss of life.

I've been practicing about 2-3 hours a day and I have to say that it is extremely satisfying. I have not been in a musical place this healthy in a long while. It feels lovely to step in front of my instrument, practice, achieve a goal, and walk away having made progress. I am finding it freeing to have control of the direction of the music I am making. Finally, I have my own voice in my head telling me where to shape things emotionally. I wish I had the strength to have done this years ago but as they say, everything happens for a reason. Looking forward to recording soon. I just need time to devote to that outcome so I can get some good takes of the Bach Cello Suite in E Flat. I wasn't sure I was connecting with that piece but it seems I have turned a corner and beginning to respect its quirkiness which differs from the C Major, d minor, and G Major.

Sooo, I am going to leave this one short but there are a few things I would like to say before I need to attend a music and arts meeting...
