How in the hell am I going to do this?

Questions, questions, questions, we ask a billion questions about returning to the classroom only to get more confused by the convoluted instructions matched with the equally daunting task of shoving our square peg in a round hole.

As a the director of a musical ensemble (band in my case) we have large classes, that’s obvious. As a band director I have been instructed that my students need to be separated by 12’ feet each. I have 50 students in my class at its peak. That’s 7200 square feet needed to accommodate a full rehearsal. Completely impossible in my room. I don’t know what is to be done for my group. If we are to actually have rehearsal everyday it can’t be in there.

Good luck to all educators out there but a special acknowledgment should be given to all music teachers as we will be challenged with some very difficult choices in the coming months.

Stay healthy and wear your masks!
